Lycoming County Historical Societies kick off Passport to History Program - HOLC
Kick-start your exploration of Lycoming County with the 2017 Passport Program. Before the program ends on Nov. 20, participants will have the opportunity to experience what it was like to live, work, and celebrate in the past, enjoy what is now offered and perhaps win a prize.
The initiative is sponsored by members of the Historical Organizations of Lycoming County with support provided by the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau.
HOLC, a group of multi-disciplinary partners, is dedicated to preserving and interpreting local history. Its mission is to enhance public awareness, encourage community engagement, support preservation action and promote heritage education. Members include Blooming Grove Historical Society and Cemetery Association, East Lycoming Historical Society, General Burrows Historical Society of Montoursville, Jersey Shore Historical Society, Lycoming College Archives, Lycoming County Genealogical Society, Lycoming County Women’s History Collection, Montgomery Area Historical Society, Muncy Historical Society/Heritage Park and Nature Trail, Pennsylvania College of Technology/Archives and Digital Initiatives, Preservation Williamsport/Rowley House, Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society, and World of Little League® Museum and Official Store.
Participating HOLC passport members will post events on their websites, social media sites, or at ConnectWilliamsport.com, the James V. Brown Library’s online community calendar. When attending the special events, always look for the HOLC-sponsored door prize entry table.
During each event attended, participants will have the opportunity to submit an entry for prizes to be awarded on Nov. 30. Although there is not a required number of events to attend to qualify for the drawing, only one entry per person per event can be completed; however, participants may submit one entry at each event. The more events a person attends, the greater the chance of winning a prize. To be eligible to win a prize, the person whose name appears on the entry form must be 18 or older.
The door prizes for the 2017 Passport Program include:
Dinner for 8 at Le Jeune Chef with wine flight
4 tickets to the 2018 Little League World Series, plus 4 tickets to the museum, programs and caps
4 tickets to a performance of choice, 2017-2018 season, at the Mary Welch Theater
4 bottles of wine from Four Friends Winery
$25 gift certificate to Station House Restaurant
